Legislative Policy Priorities
[1] Neutralize Partisan Gridlock
Reduce (and eventually Eliminate) Partisan Gridlock. Independents have no incentive to sabotage either party’s agenda, and can resolve problems versus creating campaign issues! Eliminate Legislative Negligence (e.g. lack of Immigration Legislation).
[2] Balance the Budget as Quickly as Possible
(A) End Unfunded Legislation (spending increases and tax cuts)!
(B) Governmentwide Spending Cuts (>5% per Year per Agency; Foreign Aid Related ~25% per Year). Freeze hiring, travel and capital spending.
(C) Establish Bipartisan/Bicameral Fiscal Commission to reevaluate Tax Code.
[3] Support Middle Class Living Standards
Identify and eliminate unnecessary tax/tariff policies as well as government regulations. End Reagan’s war on Labor Unions! Eliminate Corporate Tax Giveaways and replace with Corporate Tax Credits that encourage Labor Spending and Wage Growth.
[4] Reduce Government Waste, Fraud and Abuse
Enhance enforcement, increase penalties & punish watchdogs that ignore duties!
[5] Obtain Sustainable/Affordable Healthcare
Increase oversight and fraud investigation resources. Regulate Premium Increases like a Public Utility. Start planning for what comes next.
[6] Update Social Security & Medicare Funding
Adjust payroll taxes as necessary to ensure program solvency. Cap benefits for high earning taxpayers. As an added benefit, a larger Social Security Trust Fund generates demand for Government Bonds!
[7] Defund Foreign Military Interventions
Stop regime change attempts in Middle East (e.g. Iraq, Iran, etc.) & Latin America.
